Fresh Spring Mantel Decor
Spring is just around the corner and I think more than ever this year, our homes could use a little refresh! My mantel is always one of the first things I think about updating for a new season and today I’m excited to share my Fresh Spring Mantel Decor with you. I’m joining some of my blogger friends for the Seasonal Simplicity Spring Series so be sure to check out the other amazing accounts sharing their spring mantels below.
You know I like to keep my decor simple and I think this is especially true when it comes to styling a mantel. A few thoughtfully placed items will look far better than overcrowding too many. When choosing your decor, consider things like height, texture and colour. Candlesticks are something I almost always have on my mantel. Choose a classic set of 2 or 3 like these and you’ll use them all year long!
Switching up your artwork is a great way to give your home a fresh look! Whether you choose a canvas or photography print like this one, it will instantly update your mantel. You can also switch out your frames or matting to give your existing prints a new look.
Have you used preserved moss before? I especially like it in the spring as it’s pretty green colour and texture reminds me of the garden coming to life again. You can place it in a decorative bowl like I did here, or use it to top planted spring bulbs in containers. Adding a stack of books underneath adds an extra layer of interest to the mantel.
Nothing says spring like a vase of pretty tulips! They are everywhere right now, affordable, and come in so many beautiful varieties. Try displaying them in an on-trend colour block vase like this one that I DIY’d or a vintage crock. Also, if you don’t know the penny trick, you can add a penny to your tulips to keep them fresher longer. The copper acts as a fungicide to keep bacteria away and really works!
Here’s a sneak peek of the rest of my living room, which I’ll be sharing more of in next week’s spring home tour. Do you remember my Light and Neutral Spring Mantle from last year?. I always find it helpful to look back at previous years when deciding how to decorate for a new season. I hope you enjoyed my Fresh Spring Mantel Decor today, what colours and elements will you be incorporating into your home this spring?
