Blue and White Christmas Home Tour
Welcome to my Blue and White Christmas Home Tour! It’s my first time using blue accents in my home at Christmas and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s all come together. I’m joining my blogging friends for the Seasonal Simplicity Christmas Series today and there are 15 tours all together! I’m welcoming you from Krista over at The Happy Housie and her lovely new home all decorated for Christmas. If you’re a regular here or on my IG, you know I’ve been incorporating touches of blue throughout my home this year, so there was no question what accent colour I’d be decorating with this holiday season. Now, let me invite you in!
My front door is decorated simply with fresh greenery and pretty blue ribbon as a hint of what’s to come inside. This is a nice way to introduce your theme or colour pallette before guests even step inside your home.
Well hello there christmas tree and holiday mantel! This cutout in our entryway gives a peek into my holiday living room.
On the other side of the hallway, I’ve decorated the staircase with fresh garland and more blue ribbon. A fresh potted tree borrowed from the front step looks festive and this throw pillow adds a cozy touch!
I used a faux garland on my mantel and added gold bells and more blue ribbon. I’ll be sharing more details on my holiday mantel next week!
On the coffee table I have a beautiful floral arrangement of white roses and holiday greens.
A pretty scented candle and a bowl full of pine cones and ornaments rounds out my coffee table decor.
Updating your pillows or pillow covers for the holidays is an easy way to tie your holiday decor together and give your home an extra cozy feel. These beautiful pillows are handmade in Toronto. My $20 thrifted brass lamp found a new home behind the sofa and I’m loving her there!
In case you missed it, I shared all the details on my christmas tree last week. See my tips for How to Decorate an Elegant Holiday Tree
My Blue and White Christmas Home Tour continues in the dining room. Time to show you my holiday table!
My holiday linens consist of a fresh white linen tablecloth, french stripe table runner and chambray blue linen napkins to tie in with my blue theme. I love using linen on my table and mixing and matching different styles for a unique look. I did the same thing with my tableware and used thrifted top plates in a blue pattern, each one different but all similar. It’s classic and elegant but a bit whimsical too which keeps it from looking too formal.
The stunning centerpiece is a larger version of the floral arrangement on the coffee table. It’s perfectly elegant and gives the table such a festive feel!
My dining room shelves got a holiday update too! These mini brass candlesticks are thrifted and below I added a vase of fresh greenery and some ornaments with more ribbon. Carrying your theme from room to room helps tie everything together!
Over on the buffet I set up a holiday bar station for serving champagne, cocktails and wine.
This little side table got a festive update too with more blue ribbon and a pretty white poinsettia.
Time to head upstairs to the principal bedroom.
In my desk nook, a simple faux garland draped over the mirror and a faux tree in a vintage crock adds just a hint of holiday cheer.
On the other side of the room I’ve left this slim, flocked tree naked and I love how festive it is all on it’s own. A pretty pillow and my custom drapery add a luxurious, cozy touch to this space.
This view looking down the stairs into the living room is one of my favourites but even more magical at Christmastime. I love the addition of the this patterned rug and how it ties in with my theme.
A huge thank you to my photographer Camilla from Friday Eve Photo who is an absolute dream to work with and who always captures my vision and home so very beautifully.
It really is the most wonderful time of the year, like the doormat says and these pretty loafers are perfect for holiday hosting! Thanks for joining me today for my Blue and White Christmas Home Tour. Now it’s time to head over to Tanya’s lovely home at Dans le Lakehouse and see what she has in store for you and be sure to check out all the homes on the tour below for even more inspiration!
