Fresh and Neutral Spring Decorating Ideas
The first day of spring is finally just a few days away! Even though I tend to decorate on the early side (because blogger life) when spring actually does arrive, I get pretty excited about it. I’m a warm weather girl and while I love the change of seasons we get here on Vancouver’s west coast, I live for the warmer months in late spring and summer! I’ve got some fresh and neutral spring decorating ideas to share with you today as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Spring Series. If you’ve just come over from from Joanna Anastasia‘s beautiful spring cottage, she lives on the other side of Canada in beautiful Montreal. I’ve always wanted to visit but haven’t yet. If COVID continues to restrict international travel this summer, we may just finally make it there!
My front porch hasn’t quite been updated for spring yet, but I did add this pretty fresh wreath to the door, which instantly makes it feel like spring is near. The weather has still been a little cool, so I’ll be adding more plants and decor out here in the coming weeks.
If you saw my Fresh Spring Mantel Decor post last week, you’ve already seen a sneak peek of this view. New decor on the mantel and fresh pillows on the sofa are a few of the first things I change for a new season.
Do you notice something else new in here? The photography print on the mantel and here on the wall are such a welcome change for spring! Now if only we could actually visit these beautiful places in person!
You guys know I love my fresh flowers on the coffee table. A few other simple decor items like candles and wooden beads keep things fresh and minimal. I’ll be adding a few more touches for Easter towards the end of the month.
I hit the seagrass basket jackpot at Homesense and love the texture it adds here next to the mantel. Stay tuned to see where else I decorated with them!
I think of all my fresh and neutral spring decorating ideas, my spring dining room is my favourite of all! I love the french country feel it has with its ticking stripe runner, oversized rustic bowl and casually stacked plates and utensils. I’ll be sharing more in another post soon!
My upstairs landing console table got a new look for spring too! A few faux cherry blossoms work well here in an oversized vase.
More seagrass baskets, a light throw and a lantern give this space a neutral and slightly coastal look for spring.
The light and airy spring vibe continues into our master bedroom. Yesterday I shared a few new updates in here, if you missed it you can see all the pretty details here
Thanks for joining me today, hope you enjoyed my spring tour! Now it’s time to head over to Taryn Whiteaker Designs to see what lovely spring inspiration she has in store for you!

LOVE your natural touches, Judy! That wreath is SO pretty!!!
Very simple, light, airy and pretty, Judy! I love that wreath! Thanks for being part of this series.
Everything is so pretty Judy! I love that wreath on the front door and your sweet flower arrangement on the table. I’ve seen a few people post about finding those seagrass baskets at HomeSense and look every time I go in, but no luck yet. Happy Spring!
Your wreath is perfect for spring. You have a very pretty home. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you Sarah! Can’t believe we are already on to summer already!
Those baskets are a great find and fit in with the rest of your decor so nicely. I love your coffee table arrangement.
Thank you Sarah 🙂 Those baskets are staying for a while!
