My Classic Christmas Mantel with White and Red
Hello friends and happy December! You all know how much I love decorating for a new season: switching up my color palette, my pillows, my table. and my mantel. I love all the seasons, but Christmas…well it’s just extra special! Today I’m joining my friends for the Seasonal Simplicity Series Holiday Mantel tour and there are 25 different mantels to inspire you and get your mantel holiday-ready. My look this year is classic and cozy with a pop of….RED! I know, I know you’re thinking who am I decorating with red?!? Decorating with a pop of color is always a bit of a gamble and you really never know how it will come together until either it does, or it doesn’t. Thankfully it did and I’m excited to share My Classic Christmas Mantel with White and Red!
For the greenery, I started with a faux garland and added fresh fir to the center and sides of the mantel to give it a fuller look and finished with fresh eucalyptus for added texture and smell. Also, if you like to decorate early, it’s easier to replace a few branches rather than the whole mantel.
A simple red and white bead garland and white cable knit stockings give my mantel the classic cozy look I envisioned in here.
Here’s a closer look at the pretty texture of the greenery and the wooden beads.
I used a mix of ceramics: a white Christmas tree and houses and red pillar candle holders. When adding a pop of color, keep in mind just that: keep other items similar (like I did with the white) and add one or two items that will “pop”!
Next to the mantel, I added a small potted tree and lantern filled with birch logs.
Here you can see a sneak peek of my coffee table and a bit more of my tree. Be sure to check back next week when I’ll be sharing the rest of my holiday home right here! If you’re curious how this year’s mantel compares to last year, check out my Elegant Black and Gold Christmas
I’m so glad you stopped by today and hope you love My Classic Christmas Mantel with White and Red as much as I do. Decorating with a pop of color can be tricky. It may take a bit more patience and trial and error than decorating with neutrals, but it’s definitely worth the effort! I hope you get a chance to visit the other bloggers sharing their mantels today, they are all listed below.
Happy Holidays!
Judy xx
