Elegant Black and Gold Christmas

The most wonderful time of the year is finally here and I’m excited to partner with one of my favourite brands, HomeSense to decorate for the holidays! I’ve been dreaming of doing an elegant black and gold Christmas since we moved into our home 5 years ago. I think it’s the perfect complement to the modern traditional style of our home and I’m so happy with how it turned out! I found everything I needed (and at great prices!) at HomeSense. On my first trip to HomeSense, I found this set of three black reindeer and some lovely gold ornaments and knew I was on the right track! I used the other two reindeer on my mantle. Don’t be afraid to break up decor when it’s packaged in a set.  I really like the effect it gives, tying-in the same theme in different spots either within the same room or elsewhere like a powder room.

I anchored my mantle decor with these two oversized dark green bottle brush trees.  They were a great find in this larger size! I don’t usually go for a symmetrical look on my mantle but I really think it works here. The mini white Christmas trees are actually LED candles and they give off a really pretty glow without losing their shape. Love the elegant look of the Christmas update of this greek style wreath. It’s the perfect centre piece on my mantle and also doubles as a candleholder!

This black pom pom garland is a pretty contrast against the white tree and I used an assortment of textured gold and white ornaments that give it a very luxurious feel. I added an assortment of gift boxes and bags to complete the look. They are great to have on hand for easy or last minute gift wrapping!

A sprinkle of holiday on a small side table can make a big impact!

The coffee table sparkles with black, gold and glass and a pretty faux floral arrangement that will last all season long!

I couldn’t resist picking up a few new pillows to complement my Elegant Black and Gold Christmas decor.  Nothing says elegant Christmas to me more than luxurious black velvet, so I added not one but two of those and two others with a snowflake print.

In our entryway I used a simple, but very realistic looking garland and added fresh eucalyptus and black ribbon to match my theme.  The wreath above the mirror has darker tones that complement this look also.
