Holiday Home Tour – A Natural Christmas
Welcome to my Holiday Home Tour! I absolutely love this time of year and I’m thrilled to be joining 15 wonderful blogger friends to share our holiday home inspiration with you. If you’re joining me from Jackie’s beautiful home at Finding Lovely, welcome! Her home is looking absolutely gorgeous for the holidays!! Can’t wait to show you all the Christmas touches I’ve been busy working on, so come on in!
Christmas is such a special time of year and I love creating a space that both the family feels comfortable in and I’m happy to entertain in. Even though our living room is our more formal living area, it’s also the first thing the kids see when they come downstairs Christmas morning. It’s magical…for them and me!
I like my Christmas decor to complement my existing decor rather than take over. In the living and dining room, I’ve added a mixture of faux and fresh greenery and some extra brass and gold details to give it a festive and slightly glamorous look. On the mantel, I started with a faux boxwood wreath and peonies, and added in fresh eucalyptus from the garden centre. The eucalyptus will dry nicely and the mantel will look great all through the holidays. The taller two brass candlesticks were brought over from England by my grandparents many years ago. I love incorporating family heirlooms especially during the holidays.
A festive pillow, some cozy textures and these sweet gold mercury glass vases add a simple, elegant touch.
Classic white bottle brush trees add a little bit of whimsy to the coffee table, while white roses get dressed up for the holidays with some sprigs of fresh greens. I’m thinking at this point you might be starting to wonder where my Christmas tree is?!? Since we like a real tree in here, I won’t be sharing that until a bit closer to Christmas. It’s definitely a challenge to make it feel festive without a tree, which is another reason I like to use a lot of greenery. This flocked wreath and the fresh garland on the railing really do help though.
Let’s celebrate!! In the dining room, my sideboard is the perfect place to pour a holiday drink while friends and family mingle and my milk glass collection makes the perfect vessel for more greenery atop my china cabinet. On the table, this pretty beaded garland is a sweet reminder of what the holidays are all about.
In the kitchen, I’m using more fresh greenery and adding white and black accents like these enamel look mugs and antler print. You’ll find me in here a lot over the holidays as I love Christmas baking with the kids. This year I found the perfect apron too!!
Our upstairs landing table gets decked out with an assortment of trees, a pretty snow globe and some string lights. It’s the perfect place to store extra blankets and pillows to cozy up in the cooler months. Love how the eucalyptus print ties in nicely too!
