My Fall Porch
I found myself in a bit of a panic last week as the first official day of Fall arrived and I hadn’t done much decorating š±Ā Okay, okay I’m not reallyĀ panicking. Even though it’s 22 degrees celsius today and it still feels like summer, the calendar says it is Fall. Ā I caved and had a few Pumpkin Spice Latte’s, the baby boo’s are showing up all around the house…so I guess I’m getting used to the idea that summer is over. I loved my Summer porch, and I’m a little sad to see it go, but this Fall decor is winning me over!!
After years of a traditional fall palette, I’m switching things up and keeping things very neutral out here. Ā The wreath on the door was my first purchase and jumping off point. Ā I love how it contrasts against my dark door which already has a Fall hue.Ā Tip: Sometimes one old or new item is all you need to take your decorating in a whole new direction!
What would a Fall porch be without pumpkins right?!? Tip:Ā Ā Invest in some good faux pumpkins. It’s nice to have a variety of sizes, and since we often don’t make it out to the pumpkin farm until closer to Halloween, these are really great to have. Ā I have to say, they look pretty darn realistic and work really well with the baby boo’s from the grocery store.
A pretty pillow and cozy throw really adds to the Fall coziness and completes the look. Ā Apples are another Fall favourite and fresh locally at this time of year. Ā We’re hoping to add a trip to the apple orchard and corn maze to this year’s fall festivities.
So what do you think of my Fall porch? I’d love to hear from you in the comments below. If you’re a bit behind on your Fall decorating like me, hope I’ve given you some ideas and a little push to get started on yours š Next up? Fall tablescape since I’ll be hosting Canadian Thanksgiving very soon!
Until next time,
judy
