Summer Decorating Faves
Welcome to our Summer Home Tour! I’m so glad you’re joining us today, and if it’s your first time visiting the blog, I’m glad you’ve stopped by! We have some gorgeous inspiration to get your home ready for summer, so make sure to visit all the blogs on the tour listed below. When I think about decorating my home for summer, I think: coastal, tropical, easy breezy vibes. I also like to keep it simple because honestly, we spend more time outdoors anyway. Which is totally a win win because there’s way less mess to clean up!! I’m excited to share my summer decorating faves with you and hope you find some ideas to incorporate into your own decor!
PINEAPPLES
Ahh…nothing signals the start of summer decorating for me more than bringing out the pineapples! They make a pretty statement here when grouped together, or adding one into your existing decor just about anywhere, gives an instant tropical feel.
SUMMER FLOWERS
My favourite summer flowers are peonies, hydrangeas, roses and dahlias. Since peonies are usually only available here in late spring/early summer, I tend to get a little obsessed while I can get them. Hydrangeas are available year round in stores, but clipping your own from the garden in the summer feels extra special! Adding in the tropical greens gives the peonies an extra summery feel. I also like using fresh or faux statement fronds like Monstera for that tropical look.
BOTANICAL PRINTS
These botanical prints from Opposite Wall add the perfect modern touch of tropical whimsy to my upstairs console table. They have an amazing selection of prints and convenient frames that can be easily switched up for the season.
A TOUCH OF BLUE
Surprise! Bet you didn’t see that coming!?! I’m not big on blue when it comes to decor, but I found these fabulous striped cutlery pouches and knew I had to find a way to incorporate them! I spotted these pale blue plates on one of my pop-ins to my favourite thrift shop, and knew they would work well together. I love how the subtle blue accessories pair with the pink blooms and somehow it all just works. When adding in a new colour to your decor, it’s always a good idea to start small and see how you like it. Plus it was super fun to experiment with something new!
NATURAL FIBRES
Natural fibres like seagrass, jute, and sisal are a beautiful addition to any room or space to give it a beachy feel. Woven bags, baskets and rugs add pretty texture and interest, especially when paired with neutral decor. I like to incorporate small touches throughout my home for the summer.
It feels so good to have a fresh new look for summer! Love my new botanical prints and how they’ve given my console table that tropical vibe. I enjoyed using a new colour in my decor and bringing out my usual faves as well. Now that my summer decor is in place, I’ll be able to switch out the flowers as needed between fresh and faux over the coming months. I’ve linked as many items as I could or similar looks below for your convenience.
