Fall Home Tour 2020: All About Those Neutrals
Welcome to my fall home tour! It’s officially fall and right on cue, the weather has turned cool, wet, and windy here in Vancouver. It reminds me why I like decorating with white: even on a grey day, my home still feels light and somewhat bright. Ok, it doesn’t work miracles, but it really does help! I wanted to create a soft and soothing fall home this year, using natural elements and a neutral palette to evoke a serene and cozy vibe. I’m excited to invite you into my home and share my Fall Home Tour 2020: All About Those Neutrals as I join my friends again for the Seasonal Simplicity Series. There are 30 fall home tours throughout this week, so be sure to visit as many as you can below for some incredible inspiration.
Fall has to be my favorite front door season! I mean, is there anything prettier than pumpkins and fall mums?!? Next week I’ll be sharing my front door all decked out for fall, so for now, let’s head inside!
I added some cozy fall texture to the entryway with an applique pillow, faux wooden pumpkin and knitted throw. The potted mum adds a little pop of fall colour.
In my living and dining room, you’ll see touches of peach, cream, and white. Do you notice anything new in the dining room?? Excited to show you the new wall decals in the dining room which I’ll share in just a bit!
Since fall is all about getting cozy, it’s a great time to update your pillows and throws. You may remember these striped pillows from my bedroom and my summer home tour. Don’t be afraid to move things like pillows, plants, and books around to give your space a new look! They were actually the jumping-off point in here and I added another linen pillow and a neutral throw on the sofa to match.
Natural candles, a single white pumpkin, and scented potpourri in a sweet acorn dish give all the fall feels without cluttering the table. A wooden bowl with natural faux pumpkins in white and peach gives a slightly rustic feel and lots of cozy texture.
I’m still loving the look of my fall mantel, especially now that it’s cool enough for the fireplace! If you missed it, I shared all about my Elegant Fall Mantel with Neutral Accents a couple of weeks ago.
You know I’ve been pretty obsessed with pampas grass and dried florals lately. I paired some plush pumpkins with my pampas for a touch of fall and also added this beautiful vase of white bunny tails. I absolutely love the natural look and feel of dried florals for fall!
Okay, I think I’ve made you wait long enough, what do you think of my new wall decals in the dining room?
You may remember I had the rose decals in here previously which I loved but I was ready for a new look for fall. I couldn’t be happier with how this wall turned out! It’s the perfect natural vibe I was going for in here. I’ll be sharing all the details of my fall table in another post soon, including more of this lovely fall arrangement from a local flower shop!
These shelves in the dining room got a little fall update too! You don’t have to go overboard with seasonal decor to be festive. Most of the time, less really is more. A mix of real and faux pumpkins and a sprig of dried florals in a vase is often all you need to give your shelf or table a fresh look for fall.
My console table on our upstairs landing got an update for fall too! The new mirror is a recent purchase and I love how the natural look ties in so well with the rest of my fall decor. I kept the rest of the decor simple and used more of the same faux leaves in a vase as I used on my mantel and my table. Repeating the same decor in multiple spaces will give your seasonal home a very consistent look!
One of my favorite views in our home is this one from our upstairs landing looking down into the living room. When our house was for sale and we visited the open, I think it was this view that I really fell in love with. I remember standing at the top of the stairs and telling my husband 6 years ago in October: “I really love this house!” We’ve made quite a few changes since then and I enjoy sharing those updates and how I decorate for the seasons with all of you so much!
I hope you’ve enjoyed my Fall Home Tour 2020: All About Those Neutrals and that you find some inspiration and ideas for your own home. I hope you will visit my other talented friends sharing below.
HAPPY FALL!
