Simply Elegant Thanksgiving Table Setting
We are getting ready to celebrate Thanksgiving here in Canada this weekend and celebrating in October as we do, my Thanksgiving table usually has a very fall feel to it. Even though this year has had its challenges, I’m grateful for so much and happy to be able to have a small family gathering. Our celebrations might be smaller in number this year, but you can still set a pretty table, prepare your favorite dishes (mine are stuffing and pumpkin pie), and celebrate in style! If this is your first time visiting my blog, then welcome! If you’ve stopped by before, I’m so glad you’re back! Today I’m sharing my Simply Elegant Thanksgiving Table Setting and it has all the pretty details I know you’re going to love like pumpkins, candles, and a gorgeous fall floral centerpiece.
You may remember I shared these new wall decals in the dining room in my Fall Home Tour 2020: All About Those Neutrals They are the perfect backdrop for my neutral table! Also, a little backstory on my dining room table and chairs if you didn’t already know. This set was my grandparents originally and it was in my parent’s dining room when I was growing up. Eventually, my Mom wanted her own set and it went into storage for a number of years before my Dad refinished it when my young family moved into our first home. I can hardly believe it but that was 20 years ago and now I’m the one feeling ready for something new. Stay tuned as the next tablescape I share might have a whole new look!
For a very simple table setting, use a tablecloth and skip the chargers. I used a large dinner plate with lots of texture, draped the napkin lengthwise, and added a bowl for a slightly different look. This would be perfect if you’re starting your meal with soup.
You can never have too many white pumpkins is my fall philosophy! Use a mix of real and faux to achieve the look you want and keep your guests wondering which ones are real and which are faux!
I topped each bowl with a mini faux pumpkin and leaf which is the same decor I used in my living room. Repeating decor and colors throughout your home will give your seasonal decor a very cohesive look.
A stunning floral centerpiece like this one is naturally beautiful and festive and completes the whole table! You can always request certain colors or flowers for your arrangement from your local floral shop and even have them use your own container if you have something special in mind.
Use a variety of candles and candle heights to add interest to your table! The raw texture of these taper candle holders adds a modern edge to the table.
It’s all the pretty details that come together to create a table that’s simply YOU! Have fun with it and don’t worry about it being too perfect. Add the elements you love and it will be beautiful!!
