Creating a Cozy Winter Home
It’s my first post of the New Year and a new decade! I hope it’s off to a great start for you. We’ve had some very cold temperatures and a lot of snow here in Vancouver this week, so keeping cozy has been a priority! I know your home can feel a little bare after the holidays, so today I’m showing you what elements I like to add when Creating a Cozy Winter Home.
Whether you add candles, twinkle lights or switch on your fireplace, winter decor is all about that glow! I like using a combination of scented candles and these LED battery operated block candles. Also I pretty much switch the fireplace on the minute I walk in the door. It also happens to be Kellogg’s favourite spot to warm up too!
Now’s the time to bring out your coziest pillows and throws. Also, think TEXTURE! Since winter decor tends to be more simple, adding in extra texture creates lots of pretty interest. Don’t be afraid to try incorporating a new colour like I did with this throw.
Plants are a great addition to your winter home! Not only do they add natural beauty to your decor, they also clean the air which is a good thing as we spend so much time indoors in the winter months. Faux plants are also an easy addition to any room that needs some refreshing after the holidays.
Sprinkle little details here and there. These cheerful yellow Craspedia add a whimsical touch to this spot.
Wooden beads and pine cones add texture and warmth to your winter decor. I added a new longer garland to my mantle and these mini heart prayer beads to my side table. The “snow” covered pine cones mimic the snow we have outside right now.

Judy your living room is so beautiful! So bright and crisp but also cozy and inviting. Will be pinning your images for later inspiration for sure! I am also a sucker for candles and wood beads!
Kerri thank you so much, they are the best!
