New Year’s Eve Charcuterie
Hello friends, it’s the last day of 2018!! We’re planning a pretty low key evening at home with good friends and yummy food and drinks. I put together this New Year’s Eve Charcuterie with inspiration from a fabulous new book, On Boards by Lisa Dawn Bolton. In her book, Lisa walks you step by step through the basics: what you’ll need and how to arrange a great board! There’s lots of inspiration, how to’s and recipes perfect for your next gathering, party or romantic evening at home.

The board I created was inspired by Lisa’s Baby, It’s Cold Outside board. I began by laying out all the items for my board. I started with the larger items first (the bowls of olives and nuts) followed by the cheese, meat and bread sticks. I finished off with the apricots and rosemary for garnish. Setting the board on white linen or cheesecloth and adding greens and pinecones adds a festive feel that’s perfect for the holidays.
The coated chèvre looks fancy, but it’s surprisingly easy. Just crush the nuts and dried fruit in a bag and roll and press the chèvre into it. Voila!
The nuts can be warmed in the oven for 10 minutes with a sprig of rosemary for a delightful aroma.
I paired this board with bubbly because it’s NYE, but red wine or a gin-based cocktail would also be lovely
I took down the stockings and added this fun NYE garland to the mantel. I’ll be enjoying the rest of my holiday decor for a couple more days. If you’re looking for a new cocktail to try, you can check out last year’s Rio Red Grapefruit And Rosemary Cocktail recipe.
