In just a few days my first-born will be turning 17! How did that happen?!? What better time to give my daughter Rachel a bedroom refresh! In her 17 years we’ve gone through all shades of pink, purple and even black! While I do miss the days of barbies, beads and nail polish, I’m kinda liking her new-found love for neutrals . Our inspiration started with these oversize peony posters. Tip: Sometimes all it takes is a piece of artwork, a rug, or even a pillow or throw to inspire a whole new look. With the new artwork in place and a few other new decor pieces, we were able to achieve a new boho glam feel in here.
My daughter actually likes an even more minimal look than I do when it comes to decorating, so the idea of something on the wall took some getting used to. We both love the crisp modern feel of these posters! Tip: Make sure you involve your daughter or son in a room makeover or refresh. It is their space after all , and it’s important they have a say and feel involved. The faux fur rug was Rachel’s idea and I added the basket and pillow for it’s boho vibe.
I expanded on the botanical theme of the posters and added a tall vase of tropical leaves and some gold accents for glam. My daughter styled the marble tray with a few of her favourite things.
Over on her bedside tables, her glass lamps got some new bright white shades. Crystals are a favourite of Rachel’s and they really complement the boho theme. All of her bedding is white which gives the whole room a light and airy feel.
More candles and some faux succulents are the perfect minimal accents. I’m so happy with how this refresh turned out and more importantly, my daughter loves it too! And just in case you’re wondering…she keeps her room this clean all on her own and I’m one happy Mama about that! Thanks for stopping by today!
