Fall Decorating Favourites
It’s almost officially the first day of fall which means I’m finally starting to add some fall touches to my home. In my earlier blogging days I’d be rushing to decorate for fall at the end of August, but it was always such a hard transition for me. I’m a summer girl at heart and shifting to fall before it’s really here is so tough!! Today I’m rounding up my Fall Decorating Favourites and sharing some of my favourite fall decorating ideas and inspiration from over the years.

I like using a mix of faux and real pumpkins. I typically add a faux pumpkin or two around the house before they actually appear at the grocery store. Then I either switch them out or just add in the real ones. Here’s an example of how you can use both together:

Sometimes I like to go all-out at the front door with lots of pumpkins and mums (like the time I had a huge pumpkin delivery in August) and sometimes I like to keep it more simple like this:

Both are lovely I think, but I would say my decorating style his really evolved into a less is more approach when it comes to seasonal decorating. Here’s a couple of fall wreath ideas for the front door:

For a unique fall wreath, try this Dried Floral Fall Wreath DIY Make your own using a variety of dried blooms and stems for a natural and organic look.

Don’t forget your entryway! Adding a fall-inspired pillow and cozy throw is a great way to welcome guests into your fall home.

Decorating the mantel for fall is always fun! I like layering different textures and adding pumpkins and candles for a cozy fall feel.

Adding faux or dried stems around your home is a great way to add some fall colour and interest and they can be used year after year.

Fall is also a lovely season for fresh flowers so if you’re entertaining, I highly recommend splurging on fresh flowers for your table.

Thanksgiving is celebrated in October here in Canada, so our Thanksgiving tablescapes generally have a fall feel to them. I like using a lot of neutrals and of course, pumpkins!

If you’re looking for an easy DIY for fall, these decoupage pumpkins are a great way to personalize your fall decor. They can be used as part of your tablescape or added to your mantel, entry table or shelf.

I can’t get enough of fall mums!. Big and small , you can place them indoors temporarily and don’t forget the back door too! This cozy spot is the perfect place to curl up with a PSL!

Pumpkin pillows are so fun for fall! For a different look, try placing them in an oversized market basket.

Thanks for stopping by my Fall Decorating Favourites today! I hope you find my ideas inspirational and helpful as you get your home ready for fall.
