My Fall Mantel: Tips for creating a cozy and inviting space
Well it’s happening..the leaves are starting to turn, the days are getting shorter and cooler and fall is officially almost here. Truthfully I’m a summer girl at heart and sometimes wished I lived where it was summer all year long. But then fall sneaks up with its pretty colours, yummy treats and sweater weather and I fall in love all over again! Our fireplace and mantel in the the living room is a major focal point in here and I love creating a space that will evoke all the cozy fall feels. I’m joining my blogger friends for the Seasonal Simplicity series today and sharing my fall mantel and all my tips for creating a cozy and inviting space! Be sure to check out the other accounts at the end of the post for more fabulous fall inspiration.
This is the view you’ll see as you step inside our home. We have high ceilings and there’s a lot of white in here so during the fall I like to add things that make it feel cozy while still keeping things light and bright. Switching on the fireplace is the ultimate cozy hack, so simple but so good!
Creating a cozy and inviting space in your home for fall doesn’t need to be complicated. Think of things that make you feel good and bring them all together! Etsy is a great place for inexpensive digital art you can print and frame yourself. Landscapes and florals in warm tones that are a little moody work well for fall.
I don’t find I burn a lot of candles inside in the summer. As we start spending more time indoors again, I like to refresh my candles using warm toned candlesticks and ceramic jars with scents like pumpkin spice, cinnamon and pear.
Tis the season for extra pillows and throws! For an unexpected look, display them in a pretty oversized market bag instead of a basket. Also how cute are these pumpkin pillows?!?
If you’re not ready to say goodbye to all of your summer decor just yet, then don’t! I kept this ginger jar from my summer mantel and added some berries in a natural pot and mini faux pumpkins to make it work for fall.
Faux plants are a great addition to your fall home! This olive tree adds a cozy touch and some interest next to the mantel. Faux plants are a great choice next to a fireplace (not too close!) as they wont dry out if it gets too hot. Save your real plants for another spot!
