How Sweet She Is

I can’t believe my baby girl is 16!! I mean wasn’t it just yesterday she needed me for EVERYTHING?!? Not so much these days ๐Ÿ˜ญ But while her first words and first steps may seem like forever ago, watching her grow and become a young woman feels a bit like baby steps, for me!!

We came up with the idea of a cocktail style party (non-alcoholic drinks for thoseย underage of course). The invitations said: “Come in your finest!” And since you all know I’m completely obsessed with blush pink right now, it seemed like the perfect accent colour ๐Ÿ’—

Blush pink and white blooms made everything feel so fresh, pretty and feminine.

Rather than a sit down dinner, we served small bites throughout the evening. Tip:ย We did it all ourselves, but you could easily hire a local catering company. As this was a family celebration and most guests were of age, we kept things simple but pretty with Cosmopolitan martinis to start and rosรฉ bubbles to toast the birthday girl.ย Tip:ย Keep a set of inexpensive champagne glasses on hand for dinner parties. Not something you use everyday, but sure nice to have for a special event like this.

Pink and white balloons and a gold “Sixteen” cake topper and banner complemented the feminine theme. Tip:ย A few baby pics and some pretty prints were fun ways to really personalize the night and celebrate our girl.
