We’ve been enjoying some warmer weather here in Vancouver and that means we’re all starting to think about summer and patio season! It’s time to clean up the yard, bring out the outdoor furniture and get started on our gardening. Today’s post, Wave Petunias: A Potting Party is all about an event I recently hosted with Wave. I think it’s the perfect inspiration for getting your summer gardening on!
So what exactly is a Wave Petunias potting party you ask? Well…Wave partners with a local garden centre, in our case the beautiful West Coast Gardens and sets the mood for a lovely evening of planting and socializing.
Once everyone arrives and enjoys some refreshments, it’s time to get a lesson from one of the Wave’s experts, Claire.
Claire’s Tips for Petunia Planting:
- Pick your pot ensuring it has good drainage
- Pick your plants
- Fill your pot 3/4 full with moist soil
- Pull out plants and loosen roots
- Press plants in place, making sure to fill in gaps with soil to avoid disease
- Petunias like full sun
Now it was our turn to give it a try and put our new skills to work! Petunias come in many colours so it’s easy to find the one that’s right for your outdoor space. Can you guess which colour petunia I picked?
Jason from West Coast Gardens gave us some great advice about caring for our outdoor plants!
We learned some great new tips about planting petunias and got to create our own planter to take home with a swag bag too!
Thanks to Wave and the West Coast Gardens team for a fabulous evening of potting fun with friends!
My new planter is looking right at home on my front porch and if you guessed I picked WHITE, you are right!!
Thanks for joining me today for Wave Petunias: A Potting Party in partnership with Wave. Hope you’re inspired to plant your own Wave petunias or even host your own Wave potting party! What colour will you choose? Happy planting!!
