Spring Home Tour
Happy Spring! I’m so glad you’re joining us today for our Spring Home Tour. I was feeling so ready for a change of scenery in my living and dining room and Spring seemed like the perfect opportunity for a fresh new look! It all began with a simple pop-in to one of my favourite thrift stores. I found this gorgeous pedestal glass vase and two of the sweetest artichoke salad plates. Suddenly I was thinking about decorating with green! 💚
Since there were only two artichoke plates, I needed two to four more plates I could pair with them with for my tablescape. It’s been quite a while since I’ve used green in my decor. I went through a serious green stage at our last home (think…green sofas and decor) When we moved here three and a half years ago, I was definitely ready for a change. I found this set of appetizer plates from Pier1 and I knew they were the perfect fit! I just love how bright and cheerful they are, perfect for Spring! Mixing old and new together is one of my favourite ways to decorate and I love when it comes together so well!
These stunning lisianthus stems in the centre of the table make such a bold statement while still being simple and fresh. The neutral light grey table runner and napkins keep the green from taking over (like it did in my last home ☺️). Before I knew it, my table was beginning to take on a very French Country theme and I was honestly loving it!
I decided my French table needed some French wine, and since green pairs nicely with blush pink, I picked up one of my favourite bottles of rosé.
Now its time to have peek into how I carried my French Country theme into the living room.
The “Happy Spring” banner was a find from Target last year. I love its soft colours and the whimsical feel it adds in here. The topiary and vases on the mantle, and the pink hydrangea next to the fireplace are a few of my favourite details. My mantle has taken on a whole new look for Spring, and I love how my juju hat complements it all. It was a birthday gift from my husband and it still remains my favourite decor purchase ever!!
Over on the coffee table, I switched up my usual rectangular tray for a round one. It’s soft edges are better suited for the romantic feel in here.
This stunning floral arrangement in green makes a bold statement against the other soft, neutral elements in the room. Making a colour statement with flowers is a great way to add colour into your space without committing to anything long-term or costly. It’s the perfect way to experiment and have fun! Soft coloured pillows in pretty textures and neutral accessories on the mantle complete the look in here.
The shape of my mantle narrows towards the ends, and it can be a very challenging space to style. I played around with a few different looks before getting it right. I recommend bringing home a few options to try out in your space, sometimes what works may end up surprising you!
Hope you enjoyed my Spring Home Tour and feel inspired to try a new colour or new decor style this Spring 🌿 Be sure to visit all the lovely blogs on the tour for even more fabulous inspiration!
